T.D. is the official mascot of the National Football League's Miami Dolphins franchise. Introduced in 1997, the 7 foot mascot firstly appeared at Dolphins home game againts Chicago Bears on August 10.
Why was the dolphin chosen as the mascot? Dolphin is agile and intelligent animal, and Miami is near the ocean, so dolphin seemed like a good fit for them. :)
